The various test is done while manufacturing-
Hydrostatic test- this test is done to check that there is no leakage through pipe body and weld seam. The pipe is thus, made to withstand the hydrostatic test.
Bend test - in this test it is seen that no cracks shall take place in any part of test piece as well as no opening of welded pipe must occur.
Flattening test - approval criteria for the flattening test are-
EW pipe D < 12.750 in and X60 with the T500in, there must be no opening of weld prior to the distance between plates less than 66 percent of the original diameter. Pipe with the D/t > 10, no opening must be seen of the weld before the distance between plates less than 30 percent of the original diameter.
